The Henry Sheldon Museum is excited to feature 29 selected works from Kate Gridley's Witness Marks series, recently exhibited at the Kent, to be displayed alongside items from the Museum’s collection. Paired together, these works offer insight into the connection between material objects and memory, and pose to the viewer how the acts of collecting and recollecting become enmeshed.
Known for her insights into human character, the quality of light in her work, and her painting technique, Kate Gridley maintains a studio in Middlebury, Vermont, where she has lived and painted full time since 1991.
Artist talk and reception:
October 1, 5:00-6:30 at the Henry Sheldon Museum
Curated by Alexandra Weimer in collaboration with Kate Gridley and HSM staff.
